GRANVILLE: A Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia E. Kent, 95, of Granville, will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 12, 2012 with Msgr. Paul Enke celebrating. Entombment will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Kent, who formerly resided at Erinwood in Granville, and most recently at Sharonbrook Assisted Living facility, died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. She was born in Leitchfield, Kentucky, on August 28, 1917 to the late Asa and Amanda (Meredith) Poole.
Virginia, a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, was a member of Granville Fellowship, Inc, and the PIME Guild #3 where she also served as Treasurer. Virginia dedicated her life to her family, took great joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devout member of her Catholic faith and spent many volunteer hours working at the local Catholic schools.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, James and Karen Kent of Dayton; and Gary Kent of Utica; her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Steve Sabato of Englewood, Colorado, Gayle Kent of Columbus, Elaine and James Washburn of Newark, Theresa and Mike Pape of Newark, and Tessa and Richard Harvey of Pataskala; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, James Kent; two brothers; and two sisters.
Friends and family may call from 5-8 P.M., Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark.
