NORWICH: Wilbur W. White, 85, of Norwich, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013, at Morrison House Hospice.
He was born June 9, 1928, in Thurston, Ohio, to the late Herbert C. and Ora (Myers) White. On December 24, 1949, he married Edith E. Kean and she passed away April 18, 2002. He was a lifelong farmer and had farmed in Hebron, Gambier, Fredonia, Frazeysburg, Amanda and Perryton. He liked his John Deere tractors and enjoyed going to tractor shows. In September of 1992, he retired and moved to Ava, Missouri, to be near daughter Alice and her family. In 2010, he returned to Ohio to live with daughter Kathy.
Surviving are his children, Kathy (Jerry) Dozer of Norwich, Robert L. White of Perryton, Keith (Carol) White of Frazeysburg, Jeanne (Russell) Jewitt of Placitas, New Mexico, Billy White of Newark, Alice (Cleatis) Dye of Ava, Missouri; 14 grandchildren, Donald Kahrig, Jr., John (Amanda) Thomas, Scott Jason, Kylie, Amber, Calvin White, Butch, Tonyia (Jason) Ross, Charlotte, Travis, Jewitt, Justin Rosanna, Joyanna Dye; 14 great grandchildren, Taylor Kahrig, Addison, Aaliyah, Thomas, Eli, Zoey, White, Quincy White, Omeriah, Shamas, Jobe Jewitt, Natalie, Tyler, Zachary Ross, Lily, Kyra Ross, Jordan and Nicole Keyes; a special sister-in-law, Mary K. White of Hebron; many nieces and nephews and two special friends, Carl Morrison and Paul Dunfee.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Noah, Herbert and Lloyd and three sisters, Lola Lutz, Jennie Gurile and Katie Hughes.
Friends and family may call from noon-1:30PM Thursday, November 21, 2013, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street in Newark. A graveside funeral service will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens with David Hallenbeck officiating.
