NEWARK: Zola E. Morrison, age 71, of Newark, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital.
Zola was born February 21, 1942 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late John C. and Leota (Thomas) Noel. Zola was a retired chef and had been employed with Pitt's Grill in Lafayette, Louisiana and Sam's Restaurant in Conroe, Texas. An avid reader, Zola also enjoyed sewing, crafting, playing computer games and collecting pens, pencils, erasers and paper.
She is survived by her husband, James Sterling Morrison; four children, John Morrison of Newark, Daniel Wayne Morrison of Boaz, AL, Wanda (Tim) Pettibone of Newark and Mydessia (Shannon) Barnett of Boaz, AL; six grandchildren, Jessica Morrison, Lisa (Norm) Case, Randy Morrison, Alexandria Elder, Krista A.M. Pettibone and Bethany A. Pettibone; two great-grandchildren, Sebastian Morrison and Logan Case; brothers, Ronald (Ruth) Noel of Shelby and Dwight (Kay) Noel of Mansfield; sisters, Joan (Bob) Minnear and Leslie Antos (Rusty Polk) of Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Darrel Noel.
A family reunion and memorial for Zola will be held in the spring.
