Bobby L. "Fuzzy" Hartless, Sr.

NEWARK: A funeral service for Bobby L. "Fuzzy" Hartless, Sr., age 67, of Newark, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at the American Legion Post #85, 85 South Sixth Street, Newark, with Pastor Steve Osborne officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. prior to the service at the American Legion.

Mr. Hartless was born November 18, 1946 in Covington, Virginia to the late James and Edna (Nicely) Hartless. He passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio.

Fuzzy was a veteran of the United States Army, faithfully serving his country during Vietnam. He was employed with Owens Corning Fiberglas for 18 years. He was an independent truck driver for 13 years and had worked at Wal Mart. An avid NASCAR and OSU football fan, Fuzzy also enjoyed playing golf, shuffleboard and Texas hold 'em. He was a member of American Legion Post #85 and was a former member of the Druids, Eagles, Moose and the Buckeye Lake Amvets Post 51 in Thornville.

He is survived by his girlfriend/best friend of 12 years, Balinda Hottinger of Newark; daughters, Damita (Bob) Becker of Reinholds, PA and Deena Hartless of Trinity, FL; a son, Bobby L. Hartless, Jr. and his fiancée, Marianne Hartman; step-children, Stacy Hottinger of Newark, Rogeanna Hottinger of Dublin and Roger (Courtney) Hottinger, Jr. of Newark; grandchildren, Teija Smith, C.J. Smith, Kaylie Hartless, Mason Becker, Zakkary Hartless, Dana Smith, Ashley Hottinger, Jed Sherrick, Jud Sherrick, Tyler Hartless, Jack Rausch, Trevor Williams, Dylan Hartman, Carter Hartman, Brayden Hartless, and one on the way, Keaton Hottinger; four great-grandchildren; five sisters; one brother; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Trevor Hartless; and two brothers, Jimmy Hartless and Melvin Hartless.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.
