HEATH: A funeral service for Francis M. "Frank" Hupp, 85 of Heath will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 67 N. 5th Street, Newark with Pastor William Rauch officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery with military honors by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Mr. Hupp died Tuesday morning March 4, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 26, 1928 in Newark to the late Herman M. and Zoa E. (Walser) Hupp.
Mr. Hupp retired in 1981 from Rockwell International with over 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Local # 1037 U.A.W., Newark Elks, Newark Männerchor, Licking County Fly Fishers, Dawes Arboretum and T.J. Evans Park. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. His favorite pastime was fishing, but he enjoyed being outdoors as well as boating, golfing and mushroom hunting. He had earned the title of Avondale Cornhole Champion.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry K. (Hartman) Hupp, whom he married June 22, 1980; daughters, Joyce Sue (John "Sy" ) Payne of Ft. Myers Beach, FL., Jill Francine (Greg) Hupp-Wiles of Newark; step-daughter, Kellie Hanck of Ft. Myers, FL.; grandchildren, Autumn (Zak) Klein of Thornville, Shaun Price of Cape Coral, FL.; step-grandson, Mitchell Hanck of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Skylee McKee, Zoe Klein, Brighton Klein, Duncan Montgomery; several nieces, nephews, close friends and beloved pets.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Esta Wolfe, Viola Smith, Beatrice Wheeler, Estella Hummel and Bessie Morris.
Calling hours will be observed Friday March 7, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to Generation Hospice, 26 Westmoor Avenue, Newark, OH 43055. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
