Thaddeus Kilgore, Sr.

HEATH: A Celebration of Life for Thaddeus Kilgore, Sr. 92 of Heath will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2013 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 383 Washington St., Newark with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Noble officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Mr. Kilgore died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Heath Nursing Care Center. He was born February 16, 1922 in Woodruff, South Carolina to the late Thomas and Eugenia (Langston) Kilgore. The family later moved to Brevard, NC where he was raised. He joined the U.S. Army in 1945 serving in the pacific theatre during WWII. He retired in 1978 as a carpenter from H & B Manufacturing in Baltimore, MD. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and American Legion Post # 0088 in Brevard, NC; he was also a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Thaddeus (Angie) Kilgore, Jr. of Heath; two grandchildren, Brittany Kilgore and Thaddeus Kilgore, III; two sisters, Malissa Briley of California and Ella Mae Adams of North Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Pearl (Judson) Kilgore on December 14, 1992; one sister; and eight brothers.

Friends and family may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 West Main St., Newark. Additional calling hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tridia Hospice of Columbus, 2215 Citygate Drive, Suite E, Columbus, OH 43219; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
