NEWARK: Michael J. Rarick, age 55 of Pataskala, died at Mt. Carmel West Hospital on Saturday, April 26, 2014. He was born April 4, 1959, in Newark to Warren (Bud) and Cynthia (Schwartz) Rarick. Mike was a 1977 graduate of Heath High School and a 1980 graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He worked as a graphic artist for Battelle Memorial Institute, Aerospace Technologies Group, and Structured Document Services in Columbus. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Newark.
He loved family get-togethers, fishing, camping, watching the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by sisters Julie (Tom) Quickle of Newark and Jan (John) Tomlinson of Heath, nieces Danielle (Rob) Lisska and Megan Wilson (Justin Butcher); nephews Josh (Kelly) Tomlinson, Jason (Molly) Tomlinson and Corey Wilson (Amanda Fulk); great-nieces Kinley Tomlinson and Maci Lisska; uncles, aunts and cousins; several very close high school friends, plus his beloved cats Misty and Domino. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce and Jeff Rarick.
Mike will be remembered as a very happy, kind and thoughtful individual who appreciated his loving family and his many friends.
A memorial service for Mike will be held at Central Christian Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31st.
