George William Ochs

ST. LOUISVILLE: George William Ochs, age 82, of St. Louisville, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 18, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio to Tallman and Donna (Roberts) Ochs.

George was a passionate Jazz enthusiast, who had great knowledge of the history and the many artists from the Jazz era. You could ask him anything about Jazz and he would know the answer. He worked at AEP for over 30 years as a substation operator, retiring at the age of 57. He was also a United States Naval Veteran proudly serving his country from 1950-53. Most of all George was a devoted and avid ministerial servant of Jehovah' s Witnesses.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Downs) Ochs; son, Mark Ochs of St Louisville, Ohio; three daughters, Karen (Paul) Latiolais of Hebron, Becky Boyer of Columbus and Diana Robinson of Heath; a brother, Tom Ochs of Jackson, Ohio; a sister, Barbara Thompson of Johnstown; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Clark and Donna Cottrel.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2740 Newark-Granville Road, Granville, Ohio, with Elder Steve Robinson officiating.
