NEWARK: A funeral service celebrating the life of Jerry "Jake" Bennett, Jr., age 38, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.
Jake was born May 12, 1976 in Cambridge, Ohio and passed away May 14, 2014 at Grant Medical Center.
Jake was known to his friends and family as "The Legend" and was known as an all around fun guy who loved tattoos, music and helping others in any way he could. But most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred E. (Tim) Kincaid of Newark; daughters, Promise Paige Dawn Bennett, Khylie Rayann Bennett, Autumn Elizabeth Bennett, Allie Nichole Ramsey and Kelsie Monique Ramsey all of Newark; brother, Steven (Jen) Berg of Newark; sisters, Kaci "Twig" (Randy) Waites of Newark, Desirae Bennett of Byesville, Jerri (Rodney) Carriere of NC and Debbie Conley of NC; paternal grandmother, Virginia Bennett; very special father figure, Max Erwin, Jr.; grandson, Brentlee Mayson Elias Muncy; step-father, Donald J. Hall; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry A. Bennett, Sr.; paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents; and two uncles.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Wednesday, May 21, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
Contributions may be made in Jake's name in care of the funeral home.
