BLACKLICH: Eunice Eileen Radu, age 91, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Mt. Carmel East Hospice. She was born December 22, 1923 in Newark, Ohio the daughter of William and Mable (Dixon) Ulrich. She attended Newark High School and later a member of the Gamma Nu Sorority. She married Thomas Radu on August 20, 1942 in Jacksonville, FL shortly before Thomas's first overseas assignment while serving with the U.S. Navy. During WWII Eunice proudly contributed to the was effort while employed as a forklift operator in the 5th Command in Newark. Euny's passions were simple yet profound. She took great joy in her family, friends, her home in Central Ohio, and above all, her Lord Jesus Christ. She loved her pets, the great outdoors and family get-togethers around the dinner table.
Eunice is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Thomas Radu; daughter Marsha; sons Thomas U. and Gavin as well as grandchildren Larry Thompson, Rachel Lindsay. Tara Kimble-Radu and two great granddaughters Kiera and Kaleyah Lindsay.
In addition to her parents, her daughter Melanie; sisters Dorothy Imler and Norma Bailey and brother William Ulrich preceded Eunice into Our Lord's Peace.
A graveside service for Mrs. Radu will take place 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newark, Ohio. Memorial gifts to Mt. Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215 is suggested by the family, in Eunice's memory.
