NEWARK: Funeral service for Ronald C. Stradley will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 2, 2014 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st Street, Newark with Pastor Jeff Perry presiding. Interment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and acquaintances 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Stradley, age 83 of Newark, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. He was born September 4, 1930 in Licking County the son of Alonzo and Mildred (Houston) Stradley-Berger. Ron worked for Alltel Telephone Co. for 43 years retiring in 1993. He was a member of Telephone Pioneer Club Association, served on the Newark Township Zoning Board, member of Golden Eagles, F.F.A., Purity Grange and a life member of the N.R.A. Family and friends remember Ron as "Mr. Fix It" when things were broken. Everyone was like family to Ron and he enjoyed helping anyone who asked. He was a trusted neighborhood advisor and very well liked by all who knew him. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed making muzzle-loading guns.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Wilma J. Stradley; daughter Kristine K. (Tom) Williams of Newark; son Rodney L. (Judy) Stradley of Newark; grandchildren Lon Stradley, Tyler (Ashley) Stradley, Angela (Clif) Smith and Lalita (Chris) Huth; great grandchildren Nathan and Maddie Stradley; brother Herman (Marie) Stradley of Newark; step sister Frances Ballinger as well as nephew Mike (Lynn) Stradley and Cindy (Terry) Davis; brothers-in-law Larry and Dale (Cindy) Crane.
In addition to his parents, step-sister Shirley Wohlford preceded Ron in death.
