Mary E. Lanfranc Obituary
Mary E. Lanfranc

NEWARK: Mary E. Lanfranc, age 95, of Newark, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at her residence. She was born February 13, 1919 in Brilliant, Ohio to the late Albert and Jennie (Longfellow) Francis.

Mary will always be known for her patriotism and strong work ethics. Unable to join the Women's Army Corp, she arrived at Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH to participate in the war efforts during WWII. Her talents were many and all self-taught. She was a seamstress, home-remodeler, avid gardener, and to the delight of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was the world's best baker. She, along with her husband Carl, owned and operated the Cedar Street Market for 29 years. Mary was a parishioner at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament.

She is survived by three children, Mike (Kathleen) Lanfranc, Paul Lanfranc and Lori (Mark) Braidich all of Newark; four grandchildren, Ryan Lanfranc, Andi Kauble, Elizabeth (Brent) Urdarovski and Zane Lanfranc; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Annie, Olivia, Madeline, Griffin and Drake; a sister, Veldine Reed; a brother, James Francis and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lanfranc; and son, Robert Lanfranc; and six siblings.

The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark, is assisting the family with arrangements. A private family service will take place at the funeral home with Fr. Jonathan Wilson as celebrant. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, OH 43058.
