HEATH: A funeral service celebrating the life of Margaret LeMasters, age 94, of Heath, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28 at Newark Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Wes Humble officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Margaret passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at The Chapel Grove Inn with her husband by her side. She was born May 7, 1920 to the late Oscar R. and Ova V. (Roberts) Smith in Green County, Pennsylvania.
Margaret will always be remembered as a wonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest passion, love and joy was her family. She was an immaculate housekeeper who loved to bake and cook. All those who visited her home knew they would be fed well, regardless if they were hungry.
She also enjoyed working in her garden, creating ceramics and tending to her houseplants. She collected Precious Moments and teddy bears and loved to cross-stitch and sew. Margaret was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Heath Baptist Church where she loved serving others, and sold Avon for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Charles Ray LeMasters; her three children, Douglas M. LeMasters, Stephen R. (Karen) LeMasters, and Daniel J. LeMasters; a brother, Jim Smith; three sisters, Betty Duncan, Kate (Mark) Crow, Mid Courtright; sister-in-law, Mim Smith; ten grandchildren, Lisa, Kim, Jennifer, Brad, Jessie, Patrick, Kevin, Mary, Denise and Michelle; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Nancy Jane LeMasters; three brothers, Tom (Madeline) Smith, Fred Smith and John Smith; brothers-in-law, Doc Duncan and Don Courtright; two sisters, Jane (Clair) Park and Jean (Shirl) Johnson; and daughter-in-law, Karen LeMasters.
Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. at the Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, on Sunday, July 27, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath.
