NEWARK: A memorial service for Janice Sue Mathie will be held on August 24, 2014, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness's, 2740 Newark-Granville Road, Granville, at 6pm, with Brother Tim Church officiating.
Mrs. Mathie, age 81, of Newark, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014, at the home of her daughter Christina, surrounded by her loving family. Born April 17, 1933, in Newark, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Ferguson and Clara Belle (Totten) Steele. On October 16, 1949, she married Charles Robert Mathie, Jr., who preceded her in death.
She was an active member of the local Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witness's for 56 years. Her greatest love was talking to people about the Bible and God's Kingdom: www.jw.org
Surviving are a son, Charles Robert (Bob) Mathie, III; daughters, Christina (Michael) Willis, Amy (Gary) Berkley; her beloved grandchildren, Kristopher (Candace) Willis, Micah (Antoinette) Willis, Katie (Bryan) Holloman, Seth (Limelie) Willis, Kara (Derek) McMullen, Aaron (Leeah) Berkley, Jenny (Jason) Allman; 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Rosemary Black.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
