NEWARK: A memorial service celebrating the life of Darlene J. Holland, age 66, of Newark will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Tom Hughes officiating.

Darlene passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Clarence B. and Lillian L. (Henry) Lake and born June 25, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio.

She is survived by a son, Jeff Nethers; two daughters, Gina (Chuck) Markle and Jodie (Shawn) Ambrus; a brother, Greg Weisant; sister, Marge (Donald) Price all of Newark; very special friend, Carol Anderson; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many more friends she had met over her lifetime.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a great-grandson.

Darlene will always be remembered as a person who loved to laugh and had a good sense of humor. She was kind to everyone she met and would go out of her way to help others. As a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Darlene loved to take pictures at any gathering that included family. She was also a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Heath.

Friends and relatives may call one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, August 29, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
