NEWARK: A funeral service for Ronald D. McCullough, age77, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Bob Beyer and Pastor Carol Kirk officiating. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. McCullough passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). He was born June 29, 1935 to the late Virgil and Ruth (Berger) McCullough.
Mr. McCullough an Electrical Supervisor at Owens Corning retired after 33 years of service. He served in the US Army and was a 1954 graduate of Newark High School. Ron was an avid golfer and enjoyed Licking Valley Football. He was the Past-President of Fiberglas Federal Credit Union Board of Directors and Past-President of IBEW Local 1280.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Ann (Mercer) of 29 years; a son, Brad (Teresa) McCullough of Newark; a daughter, Diane McCullough of Dover, Florida; three step-sons, Chad (Linda) Hartshorn, Troy (Stacey) Hartshorn and Bret (Jessica) Hartshorn all of Newark; two grandchildren, Alexis and Audrey McCullough; six step-grandchildren, Matthew, Hunter, Emily, Briar, Darci and Chase Hartshorn; three brothers, Russell McCullough of Pataskala, Virgil (Nita) McCullough of West Chester and Jerry (Sandy) McCullough of Spring Hill, Florida; three sisters, Betty McCullough of Columbus, Eva Sunkel of Newark and Patti (John) Stott of Austin, Texas; a sister-law, Freda McCullough of Newark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Booher; his twin brother, Donald and brother, William McCullough.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, January 28, at the funeral home, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
