NEWARK: A funeral service for Charles Robert Rotert, age 83, of Newark, will be held 11:00 a.m. at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home in Newark, with Reverend Bruce Hissong officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be observed. Following the burial, there will be a luncheon at the Northside Church of Christ.

Mr. Rotert passed away January 29, 2013 at Sharonbrook Assisted Living where he was lovingly cared for, and had many friends. He was born August 18, 1929, to Charles F.and Ona (Smith) Rotert. Charles served in the United States Air Force. While in the military he received a college level diploma in electronics fundamentals. He also was an E-1 fire control systems mechanic. Mr. Rotert retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a Logistics Management Specialist. He enjoyed playing on bowling leagues, and boating. Charles loved to travel and take cruises. He was a coin collector of foreign and old money. He served on the Coastguard Auxiliary. Mr. Rotert was proud of his achievements, and endeavored to pass on to his Grandchildren the importance of education.

He is survived by his Son, William C. (Cathy) Rotert, of Circleville, OH; Daughters, Cynthia Martha (Rotert) Conrad, of Newark, OH and Donna Jean Martin, of Texas; Step-Daughter, Kathryn Cooper, of Granville, OH; 1 Sister-In-Law, Martha Rotert, of Port Charlotte, Florida; 11 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild, and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

In addition to his Parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Phyllis Irene (Dyer) Rotert; the Mother of his children, Helen Louise McDaniel; 1 Daughter, Deborah Rotert, 1 Brother, Raymond Rotert; 1 Sister, Delores Mae Rotert,and 1 Grandchild, David M. Oiler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Red Cross, P.O. Box 4337, Newark, OH 43048-4337 in his memory.

Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m., at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, 985 North 21st Street, Newark.
