NEWARK: A memorial service for Trudy Jane Hancock, 64, of Newark, will be held at 4PM, Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street in Newark. Pastor Tom Myers will officiate. Friends and family may call from 2PM until the 4PM memorial service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hancock was born March 13, 1948, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Eric and Ethel (Core) Dalrymple. She passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center in Newark, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hancock was a graduate of Smithfield High School and had been a secretary with the FBI Washington, D.C. and the Waldorf, Maryland public school system. A devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, she was foremost a homemaker, lovingly caring and nurturing her family. When her children were grown, she worked outside the home in food service at Northridge School District.
Surviving are her husband Michael B. Hancock, whom she married October 9, 1979; four children, Tracey (Mark) Keck of Heath, Erin (Jennifer) Roat of South Carolina, Jayne (David) Hall of California, Joni (Monty) Metoxen of Newark; four grandchildren, Cameron Keck, Brielle Keck, Julia Roat, Emily Roat; a brother, Thomas D. Dalrymple of Noblesville, Indiana and a sister, Carol Ann (Manuel) Garcia of Smithfield, Ohio.
