NEWARK: A funeral service for Harry A. Prince, age 86, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery with the Licking County Veterans Alliance providing military honors.
Harry passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Kindred of Newark. He was born April 17, 1927 in Amsterdam, Ohio to the late Athae and Nellie (Bagent) Prince.
Harry served in the US Army during WWII. He was an auto mechanic at Cooperider Chevrolet starting at a very early age of 13 repairing cars. He was known to fix or repair anything. He loved fishing at Lake Erie.
He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn (Gary) Yount of Gratiot; two grandchildren, Dave (Erica) Yount of Newark and Brenda (Ron) Elswick of Zanesville; two great-granddaughters, Emily and Abigail; two brothers, Richard and Donnie Prince; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Prince; brothers and sisters, Walter, Athae, Marion, Ralph, Tim and Janice.
Friends may call on Wednesday, April 24, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
