NEWARK: A funeral service for Lewis F. Wagner will be held at 10am, Friday, August 30, 2013, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Lisa Willey officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery, near Lucas, Ohio. Friends and family may call from 5-8PM, Thursday, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street in Newark.
Mr. Wagner, 84, of St. Louisville and Newark, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was born February 17, 1929, in Richland County, a son of the late Wade and Lela (Smith) Wagner. Mr. Wagner was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict and had retired from the Newark Air Force Base. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Barbara Joan (Russell) Wagner, whom he married December 25, 1952; his sons, Terrance Russel (Joy) Wagner of Newark, Jerome Kevin (Paula) Wagner of Tuscan, Arizona; a granddaughter, Emily Kathryn Wagner of Newark; a brother Lowell (Ellen) Wagner of Monroeville, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Doris (Jack) Schofield of York, Pennsylvania and Phyllis Ours of Strasburg, Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Timothy Alan Wagner and a brother Robert Wagner.
