Mary Catherine Gardner

COLUMBUS: A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Catherine Gardner, 82, of Columbus, and formerly of Pickerington, will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Saturday, August 31, 2013 with Fr. Jonathan Wilson celebrating. Interment will follow in Violet Cemetery, Pickerington.

Mary died at her home with her family by her side, on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. She was born in Newark, Ohio on February 15, 1931 to the late Oscar E. and Anna D. (Hutson) Vermillion.

Mary worked in registration at the Glen Ellyn Clinic. She was an avid bowler and euchre player, but above all, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her is son and daughter-in-law Michael W. and Bonnie Gardner of Columbus; her daughters and sons-in-law, Debra A. and Joseph Stubbs of Reynoldsburg, and Pamela S. and Daryl Bader of Pickerington; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Gary and Heather Stubbs, Jason and Shannon Gardner, Brian Gardner, Melissa Becker, Marianne Bader, Amy and Brent Gordon, and Melinda and Ryan Mahoney; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Sydney Gardner, Olivia and Chase Becker, and Shaela, Dylan, Tyler, and Bree Gordon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gardner; her brothers Earl and Kenneth Vermillion; and her sister Ruth Vermillion

Friends and family may call from 6-8 P.M., Friday, August 30, 2013, at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 P.M.

The family requests that memorials be made to the, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
