Christopher Pickrel Obituary
NEWARK: Christopher A. Pickrel, age 29, of Newark passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on February 25, 2015. He was born in Newark, Ohio on March 21, 1985 to Frank L. Pickrel II of Heath and Diane (Scott) Hoover of Newark.
Christopher worked at Taco Bell for over 12 years and also worked as a cook at Denison University. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to rock and roll and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Tasha (Kinney) Pickrel; son, Lyric J. Pickrel; paternal grandmother, Beverly Murphy; paternal grandfather, Frank L. Pickrel Sr.; Paternal great grandmother, Betty J. Wilson; four brothers, Ian Cain, Marcus Hoover, Dustin Bierman, and Samuel Pickrel; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walter and Mary Scott; and paternal step grandfather, William R. Murphy.

Chris aka pickle was an awesome person always happy smiling and cheering anyone up that he could im still at loss for words that something like this could happen to such a great man he will truly be missed by all even if you meet him once or knew him well he was one to call a friend

I worked with Chris at Denison and I'm not sure if I ever met a kinder or genuinely nice person. He was always a pleasure to be around and was quick with a smile.

I'm glad I found this guest book. I was Pickle's supervisor at Denison, and I can tell you that all of us who worked with him in the Curtis kitchen are deeply saddened to lose our friend and colleague. At his best, Pickle was the good-natured, enthusiastic guy we all loved to be around. And he was a good soul. We work with a number of people who have special needs, and once a week a young man named Steven came to our kitchen to learn job skills. Steven's goal was to work in a pizza shop one day, so every Wednesday, Pickle would spend an hour or two teaching Steven to make a hand-crafted pizza. It may not sound like a big deal, but if you could see the look on Steven's face when he makes a really good pizza, you'd realize the monumental impact Pickle had on this young man's life. That was our Pickle, and we miss him deeply. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
