ALLIANCE | Dewitt William Rice, 65, of Alliance passed away, Monday, April 4, 2016 at home. He was a member of Alliance United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lister & Amanda Rice and a brother, Charles Rice. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Eubanks Rice; son, Tommy Rice of Alliance; step-daughters, Jennifer Speciale of Alliance and Sandra Hartwig of New Bern; step-son, William Rowe of Lowland; brother, Danny Rice and wife, Lulu, of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Donna Rice of Greenville; sisters, Kathy Moore and husband, Bill, of Wilson and Ann Bryce and husband, Steve, of Delaware; grandchildren, Madison Caroline Rice, Chris, Charles and Aaron Rowe, Clarissa Hartwig, and Megan, Michelle & Bryan Speciale; and one great-grandchild, Ryan Ormond. His funeral will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, April 7th at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Penny Dollar Farmer officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Grantsboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at Bryant Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Bryant Funeral Home & Crematory, Alliance.

Jo Ann Laughinghouse Rolison, 65, of New Bern, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. She is survived by her husband Herbert Rolison III. Funeral Service was held on Thursday April 28, 2016 at 3 pm at Greenleaf Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel in New Bern. Interment followed in Greenleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. MAYSVILLE | Freddie Lee Smith Sr., 74, of Maysville, died on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Mattocks Smith of Maysville. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church, 501 Hadley Collins Road, Maysville. Interment will follow in the Mattocks Family Cemetery. Toler, William Alton* - Ernul  
ERNUL | Mr. William Alton Toler, 90, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Mr. Toler, a lifelong resident of Ernul, served in the United States Navy. He worked as a truck driver and was a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce W. Toler; daughter, Vicky Eubanks; son, Webster Toler and wife, Sheryl; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Tyndall, Louie Lenward* - Ayden  
AYDEN | Louie Lenward Tyndall, 81, of Ayden passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at Vidant Medical Center following an extended illness. Louie was born on October 6, 1934, in Craven County to the late Henry Croom Tyndall and Olivia Dixon Tyndall. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Croom Tyndall. Louie received his B.S. degree in Business Education from East Carolina College. He served in the United States Army for two years. After teaching in the public schools a few years, Louie was employed by the DuPont Company in Kinston, North Carolina, where he worked as a manufacturing supervisor for 30 years until retiring in 1991. Louie was an active member of the Winterville Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher for a number of years. He was always a farmer at heart and spent his time following retirement tending his own small farm near his home. His passion was gardening. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Corbett Tyndall, of the home; children Eric Tyndall of Calhan, Colorado, and Dana Tyndall Reddick of Ayden and her husband David; grandson, Jansen Crist of Ayden; and brother Robert Earl Tyndall and wife Debra of New Bern. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 30, at 2 p.m. in Winterville Baptist Church, 2593 Church Street, Winterville, NC, with Rev. Grant Carter officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family expresses its heartfelt love and appreciation to his family physician, Dr. Lara Surles, for her professional and loving care of Louie over the years. Webb, Margaret Hall (Miller)* - NEW BERN  
RALEIGH | Margaret Hall Miller Webb, age 96, passed away on April 23, 2016, at Mayview Rehab Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born in Bay City, Michigan, on Nov. 14, 1919, she moved to New Bern, NC with her family at the age of 2. She graduated from New Bern High School and attended Meredith College in Raleigh. Margaret accepted the Lord as her Savior at the age of 8 and became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she will be remembered as the long-time church pianist. Through the years, she used her musical talents playing for revivals at numerous churches in Eastern NC as she accompanied her father while he led the services. After moving to Mississippi, she was the pianist at Noxapater Methodist Church. Although she held several jobs through the years, when asked which job was most rewarding, she would proudly list Dental Assistant to her brother in the early years of his practice. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Foster Webb, her parents, Rev. Roy Miller, Sr., and Nina Margaret Hall Miller, and her brother, Dr. Roy Miller, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Ann and John Bohannon, granddaughters Kim Bohannon, Christy Gould and husband Jonathan, and Maria Bohannon, all of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by her beloved great-grandchildren, Emma and Jackson Gould, as well as a large, loving extended family. We give special thanks to Mrs. Rhoda Njeru who provided loving care for her in her final years. The funeral will be held 2 pm Tuesday at Cotten Funeral Home, with graveside service to follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern, North Carolina. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the music ministry of Tabernacle Baptist Church, 616 Broad St, New Bern, NC 28560 or Noxapater Methodist Church, 218 West Main St, Noxapater, Ms. 39346.
