VANCEBORO - Mr. Anthony Panichelli, 63, died Saturday, June 29, 2013.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Vanceboro Cemetery.
Mr. Panichelli was a native of Craven County and a lifetime resident of Vanceboro. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was employed with the Civil Service at Cherry Point and was a member of the VFW.
He enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, and serving with the West Craven High School Football Chain Gang.
Surviving is his son, Mark Panichelli and wife, Kindra, of Vanceboro; grandchildren, Caleb, Cameron and Chloe; his fiancé, Sharon K. Napier of Vanceboro; brothers, Earl Hart of Gainesville, FL, Joe Panichelli of Greenville and Harry Panichelli of Vanceboro; and special nephew, Josh Reventlow.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday following the service, family and friends can gather at the Panichelli Pizzeria, 815 Main Street, Vanceboro.
