NEW BERN - Carolyn Webster Franklin, 95, a long time resident of The New Bern Towers made her transition on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Uni-Health Care-Neuse.
Carolyn was a native of Brooklyn, New York and a 1935 graduate of Harren High School. She continued her studies earning a Cosmetologist license and also graduated from Central School of Nursing with an LPN license. She relocated to New Bern and was a LPN, retiring from Craven County Hospital and a faithful member of Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Her funeral service is 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Oscar's Memorial Chapel with Elder Melvin Preston, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Franklin Lanier and husband, Daniel Lanier of Chester, Va.; daughter of the heart, Lois Jamison of New Bern; three grandchildren, Carolyn Lanier of Norwalk, Conn., Lisa Lanier of Bowie, Md. and Gregory Lanier of Los Angeles, Calif., granddaughters of the heart, Jerisha Miller of Catonsville, Md., and Valerie Cary of Bowie Md.; and numerous grandchildren of the heart other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Oscar's Memorial Chapel.
