Harold Kirby Farren

New Bern - Mr. Harold Kirby Farren, 82, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013. A native of Paterson, NJ, Harry was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a Self- Employed Trucker. He was a faithful member of Sherwood Forest Free Will Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. Harry was a compassionate person who was always willing to lend a hand. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Florence Van Wyckhouse, and Elizabeth DeVries.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013, with Rev. Jerry Rackley and Rev. John Moran officiating, followed by US Army honors. Harry is survived by his sisters, Helen F. Noetzold and husband Ralph, of Swansboro, NC, and Marion Palatucci of Lake Hiawatha, NJ; brothers-in-law, Edward Van Wyckhouse of Wayne, NJ, and Jack DeVries of East Wakefield, NH, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his "adopted" family of Elva, Kenny, and Sherry Mills; and his "adopted" granddaughters, Taylor Mills and Lindsay Fulcher.
