James Green Jones

MAYSVILLE - James "Jimbo" Green Jones Sr. 90, of 220 Mattocks Road, the Belgrade Community, Maysville, died on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013.

He was a member of the U.S. Navy, St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church and the Jones-Onslow Male Chorus. He retired from Civil Service aboard Camp Lejeune as a custodial engineer after 37 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beaulah Mae Ellis Jones of the home; four sons, James Jones Jr. and Wayne Jones, both of Fayetteville, Rossie Jones Sr. of Maysville and Billy Jones of Jacksonville; four daughters, Larine Rhodes of the Belgrade Community, Jean Mack and Ruby Lee, both of Jacksonville and Linda Jones of Charlotte; 32 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren.

The family will be receiving their friends and guest at the residence.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Williamsburg Parkway, Jacksonville.

His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church with the Rev. Roscoe Linton, pastor, officiating. Interment with military honors will immediately follow the service in the Ellis Family Cemetery.
