Jerline Sullivan Wetherington

TRENT WOODS - Jerline "Jeri" Sullivan Wetherington, affectionately known as "Mema," of Trent Woods, passed away at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville on July 2, 2013, surrounded by her family. She is now with her Savior at eternal peace.

Mrs. Wetherington was a member of West New Bern Presbyterian Church and had taught Sunday school, prior to her illness. She was also a member of the Eastern N.C. Genealogical Society, the Richard Dobbs Speight Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and researched and co-authored three books relating to genealogy and local cemeteries.

She was born on October 17, 1938, a daughter of the late William G. "Bill" and Elizabeth Sullivan of Greenville, NC. She is survived by her husband, E. Coy Wetherington; her son, Ellwin Coy Wetherington Jr.; her daughter, Carla Wetherington Golden; her grandchildren, Thomas Coy Wetherington, Brandi Danielle Golden, and Clifton Grant Golden, whom she adored and cherished. She is also survived by her sister, Nannette Barnhill Creech.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Pollock-Best Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Pollock-Best Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Sockwell officiating. Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
