Linwood A. Morris

VANCEBORO - Mr. Linwood A. Morris, 67, died Thursday, July 25, 2013.

The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in the West Vanceboro Church of God. Mr. Morris, a native of Craven County, was a lifelong resident of the Vanceboro community, and a graduate of Farm Life High School. He was the owner and operator of L.A. Morris Construction Company, and attended West Vanceboro Church of God. Mr. Morris was a member of the Vanceboro Masonic Lodge No. 433 A.F. and A.M. and the Vanceboro Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Minnie Morris; and a sister, Frances Hudson.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Anderson Morris; daughter, Alesia M. Midgette and husband, Johnny; sons, Travis L. Morris and Troy L. Morris, all of Vanceboro; grandchildren, Chelsea and Emily Midgette, Montana, George and Matthew Morris; father, Archie Morris; and a sister, Connie M. Lilly, both of Vanceboro.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro.
