Martha Harbin Palmer

MOREHEAD CITY - Martha Harbin Palmer, 78, of Morehead City, (formerly of Oakton, Virginia) went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Carteret General Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, Morehead City, with the pastor, the Rev. Timothy J. Havlicek, officiating.

Martha was born on March 8, 1935 in Anderson, S.C., to Raymond and Eula Hodge Harbin. Mrs. Palmer enjoyed volunteering at the church.

She is survived by her daughter, Betsy Ann Palmer of Fairfax, Va.; son, Thomas Steven Palmer and wife, Janet, of Mooresville, N.C.; many loving nieces and nephews. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, Stephanie and husband, Justin, Jaime and husband, Justin, Chris and Joe; and great-grandchildren, Abigail, Austin, JD, Bryan, Tyler, and Camden.

The family will receive friends following the service in Westminster Hall.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Thomas P. Palmer and daughter, Mary Beth Palmer, preceded her in death.
