Mary Lou Turnage

NEW BERN - Mary Lou Turnage, 83 years old, of New Bern, went home to her Heavenly Father on July 1, 2013. She has been lovingly cared for by her daughter-in-law, Vicky Turnage and son, Jerry Turnage for several years. She departed free of pain and surrounded by loved ones.

Mary Lou was the daughter of Johnny and Estelle Edwards. She was the sister to four, Johnny Edwards (deceased), Dorothy Arthur, Bobbie Avery, and Maroney Williams. She is also survived by her four children, Gordon Turnage, Jerry Turnage, Mike Turnage, and Sandra Hood. She was the grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 13, and great-great grandmother to one.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Pollock-Best Funerals & Cremations with service at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. The service will be followed by a private burial in the family cemetery. Friends are also invited to visit with the family during a time of fellowship at 4 p.m. at Spring Hope Free Will Baptist Church.
