Patrick L. Register

KINSTON | Patrick Leon "Pat" Register, 67, of Kinston, journeyed to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Pat was born October 31, 1946 in New Bern to the late James Albert Register and Edna Inez Skinner Register. Pat retired from E.I. Dupont with forty two years of service. He later attended Lenoir Community College receiving a degree in Computer Engineering Technology. Pat had a great love for Jesus and was an active member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He served as the sound specialist for ten years, served as an usher and was active in the Men's Ministries. Pat enjoyed working with his hands and carpentry. His birdhouses were second to none. Pat's honest, humble ways and Christian walk were a testimony to his strong love of Jesus. Pat always exhibited optimism and his positive outlook were admired by many. His life set an example for his children, grandchildren and siblings that will lead them all their lives. His faith in Jesus and concern for others was exhibited in all he did.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 3 p.m. from Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Brian Rogers, Pastor Willis Pearson and Pastor Jimmy Forehand officiating. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Pat is survived by his wife of thirty three years, Jane White Register; three children, Amanda Poole and husband, Brooks of Kinston, Shannon Register of Greenville and Lynn Register and wife, Michelle of Cove City; two grandchildren and one grandchild on the way, Davis and Brody Register; three brothers, Jimmy Register and wife, Jeannie of Greenville, Dale Register and wife, Patricia of Kinston and Ricky Register of Kinston. In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Register.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church and at other times they will be at the home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com. Memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
