Pauline Stokes Hill

NEW BERN - Pauline Stokes Hill, 89, of New Bern, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2013 surrounded by her family.

She retired from Belk after more than 25 years of service. Until her health failed, she was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday school and she sang in the adult and joy choirs. Pauline enjoyed taking trips with her church family and she loved to visit those members who were sick and brighten their day with a chocolate pie. She will be missed by all her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Marion Stokes and Edward Stokes and her sister, Doris Manser.

Pauline is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Ross of Asheville, Kathy Ferebee of New Bern, and Barbara Davis of Chocowinity; her sons, Floyd Hill Jr. of New Bern and George Hill of Florida; one sister, Sybil Boyd of Vanceboro; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, followed by a service at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Dena, Joyce, Wanda and Peggy.
