Rolvix Harlan Patterson Sr.

NAPLES, Fla. - Rolvix Harlan Patterson Sr., age 74, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 9:48 a.m. in Lafayette.

Mr. Patterson was a native of Danville, VA and a resident of Naples, FL. He was the Executive Vice President of K.R. Edwards Tobacco in Smithfield. He was a Deacon and Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Smithfield. Mr. Patterson attended the University of VA as an Economics Major, earning his Bachelor's Degree. He was a very active member of the community in Smithfield.

Survivors include his wife of fifty one years, the former Betty Collins Grow of Danville, VA; two sons, Rolvix Harlan Patterson Jr., M.D. and his wife, Martha Ann Ferrell, of New Bern and John Byron Patterson M.D. and his wife, Sheila, of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Rolvix Harlan Patterson III, Charlotte Ferrell Patterson, Cassidy Diane McAlpine, Benjamin Steele Patterson, Antonina Collins Patterson, Jack Grayson Short and Lucas Rowen Patterson; and one brother, Travis Thames Patterson Jr. and his wife, JoAnne, of Summerville, S.C.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis Thames Patterson Sr. and the former Laverna Idema Harlan.
