Virginia Bell Braxton Ormond

New Bern - Virginia Bell Braxton Ormond, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at CarolinaEast Medical Center. She was a native of Pitt County, but spent most of her life in Craven County.

She owned and operated Ormond's Laundry for many years and was a member of New Bern First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She is survived by sons, Lester Autry Ormond of Suisun City, CA., Jasper "Jim" Ormond of Etwanda, CA., Gaylin "Tot" Lee Ormond of New Bern, Rayon L. Ormond and wife, Betty of New Bern, Connie Delano Ormond of New Bern, Danny Kaye Ormond and wife, Anne of New Bern and Dale Anthony Ormond and wife, Becky of New Bern; and one daughter, Amy Sue Ormond Toler and husband, Louis of New Bern; 20 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Lester Cecil Ormond; son, Gary Kent Ormond; two grandchildren; her parents, William Jasper Braxton and Bertha Harris Braxton; and two brothers, James William Braxton and Kirby R. Braxton.

Funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Pollock-Best Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Braxton Family Cemetery in Vanceboro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, just prior to the funeral.
