She was a graduate of Union High School, Union, N.J., received a degree in microbiology from Rutgers University's Waksman Institute and attended graduate school at Colorado State University. She was employed for 20 years as a research microbiologist at Schering Plough and later Merck.
She is survived by her parents, Philip and Paula Adam of New Bern; her husband, Jeffrey; two sons, Matthew Cramer of New York City and Andrew Cramer of Chatham, N.J.; two sisters, Patty Schoenicke of Padre Island, Texas, and Paula Gallagher of Rockaway, N.J.; and brother, Philip Adam of Northport Village, N.Y.
Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Corpus Christi Church in Chatham, N.J. Interment was in St. Vincent Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, N.J. 07834.
