KINSTON - Alice Faye Stroud Boone, 73, was called home to her Heavenly reward and eternal healing on Sunday, July 8, 2018 where she walked into Heaven to meet her Lord. Alice was born December 11, 1944 in Lenoir County to the late Ned Murry Stroud, Sr. and Elsie Croom Stroud. Her best friend and husband of 50 years, Lawrence Leonard Boone, preceded her in death on September 2, 2013.

Blessed with a true servant's heart, Alice Faye's faith in Jesus and concern for others was exhibited in all she did. The way she carried herself, her strong faith, inner strength and fortitude to persevere were a true inspiration to all she came in contact with. Alice Faye easily made friends and always gave her best in all endeavors. She lived to serve her Lord and glorify His kingdom.
Alice Faye and her husband, Lawrence were faithful, devoted members of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church for over 50 years. As Alice Faye and Lawrence battled cancer, the prayers, support and love from the Tanglewood Church Cancer Support Group and the Heart 2 Heart Women's Ministry brought blessings that were immeasurable.
Alice retired from the City of Kinston where she worked as tax collector.
Alice Faye's love for her Lord and family were the main themes of her life. The well-being and happiness of her daughter and grandchildren were a driving force in all she did. Alice Faye loved her daughter and grandchildren deeply. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with them. Gatherings with her sisters, Judy and Vicki created many special memories. They truly loved shopping and eating together. Together they shared hopes, dreams, laughter and tears. Alice Faye always looked forward to conversations with Ned where they reminisced about days gone by. We now rejoice in Alice Faye's healing and reunion with family.
A service to celebrate and honor Alice Faye's life will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 6 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Marla Boone; two grandchildren, Zachary Lawrence and Abbie Elisebeth; two sisters, Judith S. Cummings and husband, Lloyd, and Vicki S. Heath and husband, Donald; sister-in-law, Linda Lee Stroud; brother-in-law, Mearl Boone; along with a number of special nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice Faye was preceded in death by a brother, Ned Murry Stroud, Jr.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday following the service. Online condolences may be expressed at Alice Faye's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Dean Jared Yamaguchi, Bethel Church Friends, Hospice Nurse Angie Lacross, Chaplain Seth Jones and extraordinary caregivers, Sandra Tucker, Teresa Moore, Karal Graham and Lillian Whitfield for their loving care and support.
