NEW BERN - Caroline "Jennie" Harris Coward, 81, of 139 West Pleasant Hill Drive, died Friday, May 5, 2012, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.Her membership at Pleasant Hill AME Zion Church included serving as an usher.
Her funeral will be held noon Friday, May 11, 2012, at Pleasant Hill AME Zion Church with the Rev. Don Roberts officiating and the Rev. Morris Ellison, eulogist. Burial will follow in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her four daughters, Erma Coward Whitfield, Joan Coward, Donna Robinson and Hilda Coward all of New Bern; one sister, Florence S. Harris of New Bern; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the residence.
Viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Oscar's Mortuary.
