Charles Lee Fisher Sr.


TRENT WOODS - Charles "Buddy" Lee Fisher Sr., 61, of 4709 Carolina Ave., died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.

He was a member of the 1969 graduating class of J.T. Barber High School and joined the U.S. Army following graduation. His government service continued at the U.S. Forest Service for five years and as a metal mechanic at Cherry Point Fleet Readiness Center, retiring after 35 years.

His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Star of Zion MB Church with the Rev. Kareem Buck, pastor, and the Rev. R. E. Midgette, eulogist. Burial will follow in New Bern Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

He is survived by his wife, Donna K. Bryan Fisher of the home; two sons, Lt. Charles L. Fisher Jr., U. S. Navy, of Chesapeake, Va. and Jason B. Fisher of New Bern; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the residence. Viewing hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Oscar's Mortuary.
