ERNUL, N.C. - Edward "Eddie" Abram Strickland, 66, of Ernul, N,C,, passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2014. He was the son of the late Edward Abram Strickland Sr. and Iona Brock Strickland. He was born Sept. 14, 1947 in Goldsboro N,C. He graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1966 and served four years in the U.S Navy. After the Navy, he joined Craven Electric Supply Co., where he became president. He retired Oct. 1, 2013.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Strickland; daughter Tracy Strickland Lehto; step-son Sean Oliver; sisters Sybil Strickland Campbell and Kimberly Strickland Heath; four nieces, three nephews, and six grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his sister Carol Strickland Lane and brother Phillip Wayne Strickland.
He was very involved in the fraternal organization of Masonry Berne lodge 724 as a 33rd degree Mason. And also the Shriners, New Bern Scottish Rite and New Bern York Rite.
He was a Christian with strong faith in the lord and a member of Temple Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A funeral service will be held at Temple Baptist Church, Tuesday, April, 8 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held at 1p.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
