NEW BERN - Henry McQueen, 79, of 1502 Washington St., died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at his residence.
He served in the U. S Army. Later he was self-employed as a painter and formerly employed with Greyhound.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Oscar's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. R. E. Midgette Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Wallace McQueen of the home; three sons, Vittorio McQueen of Charlotte, Tedroe Lambert of New Bern and Benjamin Sheppard of Alaska; five daughters, Angela Clemente of Fayetteville, Denise McQueen, Sabrina McQueen and Gabriela Cocchiere, all of Atlanta, and Jessica L. Spencer of New Bern; brother George McQueen of New Bern; sister Rosa M. Perry of New Bern; and 23 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, at the mortuary.
