James Earl Cooper

MESIC - James Earl "Bo" Cooper, 80, of 256 Park Ave. Mesic, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at Novant Presbyterian Health Center Charlotte, N.C.

His membership at Mt. Olive M. B. Church included serving as chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday school teacher and superintendent and Willing Workers Ministry. He served as former mayor and councilman of Mesic and retired from Cherry Point air station.

His funeral will be at noon, Friday, Jan. 31 at Mt. Olive M.B. Church, Mesic with the Rev. David Burley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mesic Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Louise Cooper of the home; one son, Ray Cooper of Fayetteville; three daughters, Jackie Landson, Vertina Hunt and Carol Cooper, all of Charlotte; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at Oscar's Mortuary, Inc.
