NEW BERN - Jewel Faye Felts Casey, 71, died on Monday, May 14, 2012, at her residence. She was a member of Sherwood Forest Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Casey of New Bern; one daughter, Susan M. Ballard of Clayton; one step-daughter, Sharon Casey of Swansboro; two step-sons, Gene Casey of Swansboro and Thomas Casey Jr. of Connecticut; one sister, Sarah Jean Wright of Butler, Pa.; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday May 18, 2012, at Sherwood Forest Free Will Baptist Church in New Bern with the Rev. John Moran, pastor, and the Rev. David Thick officiating. There will be a private entombment at Greenleaf Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Jewels' name be made to Sherwood Forest Free Will Baptist Church, 2601 Neuse Blvd. New Bern, NC 28562.
