NEW BERN - Mr. Lawrence B. "Larry" Caswell, 82, passed away on July 2, 2013, with his family at his side. A native of Olean, NY, Larry was a retired pilot with United Airlines, spending most of his career in New Jersey. Larry was happiest when he was working on one of his many hobbies. He loved gardening and landscaping, and was able to transform a yard into a verdant and fragrant wonderland. He also loved sailing, playing the piano and singing. He designed and built many houses in his spare time, including several of the homes his family lived in. Larry was a quick wit and enjoyed making people laugh. In 2005, he and his wife of 58 years, Sammie, retired to Fairfield Harbour to enjoy a more relaxed life and warmer weather.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Pollock-Best Chapel with Dr. Steve Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Those wishing to offer words of hope and condolences may visit www.pollockbest.com.
