Obituary

MOREHEAD CITY - Leo Alphonso Dudley, 79, of 908 Bay St., died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Carteret General Hospital.

A native of Morehead City, he served his country as a member of the U. S. Army. He was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman and was a member of St. Luke MB Church singing with the Male Chorus.

His funeral service is 1 p.m. Monday, at St. Luke M. B. Church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Alexander Dudley of Washington, D.C. and Brian Keith Dudley of Tabor City; five daughters, Lubertha D. Tootle of Morehead City, Dena D. Lightfoot of Louisville, Ky., Lavonne D. King of Wake Forest, Daphne Elkins and Katrina D. Stokes, both of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Rachel D. Becton and Avonda Dudley, both of Morehead City and Nursie Dudley of Chicago, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
