NEW BERN - Leo Phillip Bellamy, Sr., 68 of New Bern died Friday, June 14, 2013 in New Bern. He was born Oct. 5, 1944 to Mildred McKinney and the late Willie "Rock" Bellamy in Manhattan, New York.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife Juanita, son Kevin and brother Billy.
As a retiree, he moved to New Bern, joined West Street Christian Church and rode his Gold Wing with the Independent Bikers Club of North Carolina.
Leo leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Minnie Wilson Bellamy of the home; his mother, Mildred McKinney; two sons, Leo Bellamy, Jr. and Shawn Bellamy; one daughter Felicia Vega, two stepsons, David A. Ward and Martin Demetrius Ward; five brothers, his twin, Leon David Bellamy, Leonard Gresham, Robert Gresham, Matthew McKinney, Parish McKinney; six sisters, Leona Ross, Leonora Morris, Phyllis Blanks, Deborah Wright, Patricia Garrett and Rena McKinney; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, one uncle, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-law relatives and friends.
Viewing will be 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday with a Wake Service from 6 to 7 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home and Cremation services, Burgaw. The funeral will be noon Friday, June 21 at St. Peters AME ZION Church, New Bern. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, Highway 117, Watha, NC.
