CHOCOWINITY - Mr. Leroy Chandler age 74, a resident of 3341 Gray Road, died Saturday May 5, 2012 at his home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday May 8, 2012, at 15th Street Church of God in Washington.
Mr. Chandler was born in Craven County the son of the late John Robert Chandler and Geneva Porter Chandler. He married Ada Beavers on February 11, 1956.
Mr. Chandler is survived by his wife, Ada Beavers Chandler of Chocowinity; two daughters, Donna C. McRoy and husband Greg of Chocowinity and Wanda C. Elks of Wilmar; a son, Roy Lee Perry of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Lucille Nobles of New Bern; a grandson, Christopher McRoy and wife Caroline; a great-grandchild, Taylor Elizabeth McRoy and Happy, his beloved dog. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Darrell Chandler and two sisters, Dorothy Chandler and Gloria Hollowell.
