Mildred Jonita Grant Allen, 46, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, in Durham. Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Oscar's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Collins officiating.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald A. Allen, Jr., of New Bern; three sons, Jerome Grant, Varsity A. Allen and Gerald A. Allen, III, all of New Bern; two daughters, Sharlene Grant and Shanae Grant, both of New Bern; her father, Joseph Grant, Jr., of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother, David Grant of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and one step-son, Dashawn Allen of New Bern.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Gerald Allen 911 Meadows St.
