BRIDGETON - Mrs. Mildred Tatem Bryan, 94, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at her home.

A native of Chesapeake, Va., she was a member of Bridgeton Original Free Will Baptist Church. She was awarded the Woman's Auxiliary "Woman of the Year." She was a charter member of the Bridgeton Rescue Squad, member of the Eastern Star, and was active with the President of the Bridgeton Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Mildred was co-owner of Bryan Tile Co., with her husband of 61 years, George Hamilton Bryan.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Pollock-Best Chapel with the Rev. Laura W. Foushee officiating. Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mildred is survived by her children, Janice B. Thomas of Milford, Ohio, Joe Wright of Wakefield, Va. and Teresa B. Wheeler of Raleigh; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hamilton Bryan.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Wright, Jeff Wright, Logan Wright, Bob Thomas, Jimmy Thomas, her grandsons and Trevor Wright, her great grandson.
