She was a lifetime member of Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother's Board and Beautification Committee and worked as a Sunday school clerk, choir member, youth Supervisor and pastor's aide.
She is survived by one son, the Rev. Dexter Mattocks of New Bern; one daughter, Bernadette Mattocks of the home; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 at Rivers-Morgan Funeral Home, Inc., 701 West Street, New Bern.
Her funeral will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31 in the Oakey Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. James Ponds and the Rev. Dexter Mattocks officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the Flanner-White Cemetery.
